On Saturday 29th August in Florence New Generation Festival & HAPE Collective invited the public to the closing of ReGeneration Festival presenting John Swing at the Manifattura Tabacchi.
The ReGeneration Festival (#ReGen) was an unprecedented four-day programme of socially-distanced concerts and productions running from 26 to 29 August at the landmark Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens in Florence which was offered to audiences entirely for free while also being streamed live online.
Born in 2017, the New Generation Festival is a unique event in virtue of its power of drawing a diverse audience into a serendipitous musical and cultural journey which spans from opera, symphonic concert, jazz, pop and dance music to cinema, theatre, poetry, dance and fashion. It also constitutes a platform for young artists to show their exceptional talents in an extraordinary setting.
The Festival closed at Manifattura Tabacchi with a HAPE night and its signature Caribbean sounds (true to the Collective’s Havana roots) brought to us by London—based DJ and Producer, John Swing. Self-mentored by the deeper tones of soul and jazz music, John Swing has built a singular and lasting catalogue of dance music since his first house cuts began surfacing over a decade ago.
Also at Manifattura Tabacchi the late night program featured a DJ Set by Lorenzo Magnozzi and live show by singer and songwriter Mayfair Lady.
The ReGeneration Festival, produced by Corsini Events Group, demonstrated the restorative ability of the Arts from the city of the Renaissance and represented a powerful response to the fragile times the world is going through.
