On March 16th, HAPE, Friends of Havana and Estudio50, presented “La Habana Creativa”.
The event celebrated the closing of “Hablemos de Las Industrias Creativas de La Habana”, two days of talks and work-shops, where international experts discussed with the Cuban counterpart about the ways of unleashing the potential of Havana’s creative economies. Participants included, Justine Simmons, London’s Vice Mayor for Culture and Creative Industries, advisors to the mayors of Medellin, researchers from Spain, U.K., New York City and experts from UNESCO and European Union.
The evening began with a jazz concert by Carlos Miyares & quintet. It was followed by a performance of “Tocororo”, directed by Carlos Acosta and performed by Acosta Danza ballet corp.
Clandestina and Dador, Cuba’s first fashion labels, presented their outfits in a catwalk.
The dances began to HAPE Collective’s Dj Landeep and Ben music.
