N’Djamena, Chad, 24 February 2018
HAPE N’Djaména lit up the garden of the French Cultural Institute with a mix of live traditional performance and DJing in front of a crowd of both national and international dancers. With Samy on the vocals and drums, Master Walid with his piano, Idriss and his garaya, Bana and his djembe and Vianney with his trumpet, the artists played along DJs from France, Italy and Chad to create a tropical soundclash that still resonates now! This evening really established the HAPE Collective as one of the major cultural actors in Chad and showed a lot of sceptics that sahelian traditional music and western electronic beats could make people dance until the wee morning!
